This free interpretation of the historical figure of the Lesbian poet, Sappho, is based on her own poetry, mainly as translated/reimagined by Mette Moestrup and Mette Christiansen (Gyldendal, Denmark 2021). Some linguistic notes are taken from translations into English by Aaron Poochigian and Anne Carson. Background info taken from the afterwords to several Danish translations, as well as the preface for Poochigian's "Stung With Love: Poems and Fragments". Also, Wikipedia.
